crampin' my style

Sooo, inside our invitation kit was a whole section on dress code:
"Men and women are expected to dress professionally. For men, well-ironed long or short-sleeved shirts with collars, long trousers, and leather shoes and socks are basic requirements for the workplace. A tie and jacket may be necessary for some job-related functions. In some assignments, a tie may be required on the job. For women, professional dress includes skirts and blouses, dresses, and dress pants in conservative colors. Women should also war closed-toe pumps or flats suitable for an office setting. Flip-flops, Tevas, Birkenstocks, jeans, T-shirts and casual wear are not acceptable in the workplace."

In the packing list for women they suggest bringing both a pantsuit and a cocktail dress! Needless to say, Matt is not happy about this new news.

However, I'm sure those of you who were on the fence about planning to visit, are now wanting to come just to see Matt in a tie...:)

Youth As Promise Advisors, Jamaica, March 17, 2010

And so it begins...sort of. Of course we haven't actually begun our 'service', but we have received our official invitation kit. So we now know what we're doing, when and where....sort of.

We do know that on March 17, 2010 (or thereabouts) we will be heading to Jamaica to begin our next adventure. We'll both be working as Advisors with a program called Youth As Promise. Pretty cool, huh?

So, as you have noticed I (and thus we) have decided to have a blog. What can I say? It's what all the cool kids are doing these days, and I just wanted to fit in...sort of. I figured in all practicality, it is the easiest way to keep everybody updated. For the record, Matt wants nothing to do with it. No surprise there. However, I'm sure he'll end up contributing in some way, as he usually does.
